US Dept of War increasing budget by $500B for Air, Land, and Sea Defense. One way to scale this demand is to utilize Aluminum HPDC and Mag Thixomolding. We have plenty of installed Capacity in the US to start, however we need to increase cooperation between the Primes, Tier-1 suppliers, and the remaining HPDC/Thixomolding suppliers in the Courtry P.S we desperately need further investment to increase Domestic HPDC/Thixomolding Capacity.

Vertically integrated and thriving ✌️
The post SpaceX IPO era looks like an unfathomable amount of capital flowing into vertically integrated production. SpaceX found ways to build rockets and scale a company with technology. Can be true for every physical industry. Especially repeatable production manufacturing.

30 minutes to success Scale and high production. Run all machines all the time and eliminate/shorten everything that prohibits that to 30 minutes. Make 3 hour setups, 30 minutes. Make each and every job/skill so easy you can bring someone in off of the street and teach them in 30 minutes to do it. Turn days of maintenance downtime into selected 30 minute PMs (example: there’s 8 valves in our shot ends, we take 30 minutes to replace one valve and seals between a production window even if it’s not broke/worn out, after a few weeks of this you’ve rebuilt your entire shot end)

Has any of my manufacturing peeps started a family office for LTAF ? If so how was it structured and what law firm did you use to create it?

It is important to do shift maintenance on dies during production to clean out slide pockets and keep face of die clean so everything works properly. This is minimal down time to avoid die damage where you would have a lot of down time.

Great Book recommendation. Thank you Raghav. I’ve been studying and looking into buying New Die Cast Machines (E-Presses) that are Actuator based instead of Hydraulic. Very impressive machines. Plastic injection have been actuator based for a long time.
Lottts of hard work yet to be done, but we learn something new everyday. And that’s what matters. Made friends with the local machine shop who’s kind enough to let us experiment in his shop.

Real talk from the die casting floor: This insert just broke out mid-production and started distorting our parts. Inserts are the precision pieces we put into dies for complex features, bosses, or tight tolerances. When one fails, it can shut everything down… but not for long here. We pulled the die, repaired the insert, reinstalled it, and were back running quality production in just 1.5 hours. That’s the difference between average shops and a true high-pressure die casting operation — fast troubleshooting, in-house tooling expertise, and minimal disruption for our customers. These are the unsexy but critical details that keep American manufacturing strong. 💪 Ever seen a die insert up close or dealt with tooling repairs? Drop your questions or stories below 👇

With the technology we have now, every single project/part should have an optimized mold design with conformal cooling lines. IMO. Whether it needs to be through insert/cavity, cores, and runner blocks. You want that part solidified as fast as possible so you can eject and make the next part. Reiteration pattern of design, simulate, and optimize

Inside our massive dies aren’t just simple straight holes for cooling — we use conformal cooling channels that twist and turn to follow the exact shape of the part. This advanced tech (simulated in NovaFlow) gives us: • Faster cycle times • More uniform cooling • Better mechanical properties • Amazing surface finishes (down to 2-5um on parts) Old straight-drilled channels can’t compete. This is how we deliver high-performance aluminum castings that outperform expectations. Most people never think about what’s hidden inside the tooling making their everyday products… but this is next-level manufacturing. What die casting secret should I unpack next? 👇

Solidification of the Casting is one of the largest time drains. Conformal cooling lines can cut up to 30% of the cycle time. Certain designs can be more.
