Biggest Bill of the year with one our strongest Champions. So glad we achieved this.
Huge support for Cannabis Cafes across the state--Democrats, Republicans, the Bay, LA, San Diego, Central Valley--an opportunity to support the legal cannabis industry, combat illegal drug sales, create jobs, bring in revenue and tourism, and bring people into our downtowns and commercial corridors.

Thank you @MattHaneySF for being the biggest champion for the legal cannabis industry. This bill sponsored by @UCBA_Network is arguably the most positively impactful bill to succeed this legislative session. Huge win for cannabis retailers statewide, proud we made it happen.
My bill, AB 374, to allow for Cannabis Cafes in California just passed out of the Senate 33-3! Strong bipartisan support. A quick concurrence vote in the Assembly soon and then on to the Governor! The bill will allow local governments to permit existing cannabis small retailers to diversify their businesses with food and nonalcoholic drinks.

“The city and the state government are currently fighting over who gets to levy the final tax on pot shops. Neither side is relenting, leaving store owners stuck with no idea how to calculate pot taxes. “. This is why SB 512 must pass this year. sfgate.com/cannabis/article/…

“At this point I don’t see how the government has any choice other than sitting down and figuring out a bailout,” Cvetko said. “If there is one part of the supply chain the state can’t afford to lose, it’s the retail side.”

Brace yourselves. Let’s see if tomorrow becomes the worst April Fools Day joke ever. UCBA has been doing a lot to ensure this isn’t a disaster, but let’s see. Looking forward to sharing more about what happened behind the scenes before this rollout.
Is your point-of-sale system ready for the retail cannabis delivery requirements beginning April 1? Contact your software provider to verify compliance. Hitting snags? DCC has been working with Metrc to improve system performance. More information here: ow.ly/3tkp50NwAsm
