๐จ๐ด Status Red weather warning: University classes cancelled until 11:00 am Monday 13 November 2023
As storm Debi moves across the country, Met รireann has heightened the status warning for Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly and Westmeath to Status Red.
According to Met รireann, this new Status Red warning is valid from 05:00 am to 08:00 am on Monday 13 November 2023.
As a result of this heightened extreme weather warning,ย the University is cancelling classes until 11:00 am and staff are advised to adhere to the guidance issued by Met รireann and the National Emergency Coordination Group.
As advised by the National Emergency Coordination Group, under a Status Red warning travel is not advised during the period of the warning and until the alert has finished.
A Status Red alert is the forecaster's highest-level warning which has the potential to endanger human life, cause damage to exposed and vulnerable structures, disrupt services and transport, lead to significant power outages and cause fallen trees/branches.
The University will continue to monitor the Met รireann weather warnings and the associated guidance from the National Emergency Coordination Group, and will provide updates on an ongoing basis.
