This past summer, SNRE PhD student @OAcevedoCharry visited the Colombian Amazon to conduct fieldwork. Orlando’s research focuses on understanding differences in avian community composition between unflooded terra firme forests, white-sand ecosystems & shifting agricultural plots.

The project is being conducted in collaboration with local, indigenous researchers in Mitú, Vaupés in the Colombian Amazon region. This research will shed new light on spatial dynamics of avian community assemblages in the Amazon and how human land uses influence these systems.
