πͺ²β¨ Caught this one in the garden greens tonight! Lightning bugs are back and lighting up the summer evenings. Nature's tiny lanterns. #LightningBug#Firefly#SummerNights#BackYard
Blue Flax (Linum lewisii) in full bloom! This perennial was used by Native American tribes for cordage, baskets, fishing nets & snowshoes. Historically used in poultices for swellings, eye washes & digestive relief. #BlueFlax#NativePlants#WildEdibles
I hope he finds a mate soon. This Red-Bellied Woodpecker has been hammering away on our gutters every single morning. Natureβs loudest alarm clock! πͺ΅π¦

Had I known this was a Mockingbirds nest earlier I would have removed it. They built beside Tree Swallows and have affected her taking care of her babies. She hasn't been to the nest all day so likely last baby will die.
Sad update from the nest. We're now down to just one Tree Swallow left to fledge. The other baby stopped moving today, so I removed it as soon as I saw it wasn't breathing. π
