Louis here, taking over this account from Sami.
Starting my term as UJS President is a massive honour, and I cannot wait to champion our wonderful Jewish students over the next year.
I look forward to updating you all about the work our amazing @UJS_UK team do!
A powerful call to action from @bphillipsonMP at @UJS_UK recent Vice Chancellors Conference.
We all have more to do to combat antisemitism on campus, and by working together - universities, government and wider civil society - we can truly turn a corner.
Even by @UJS_UK’s standard of producing outstanding leaders, @UJS_PRES stands out - holding a mirror up to leaders across society who need to show the same courage and moral clarity in the face of antisemitic hatred and prejudice.
'Where is the outrage? Where has anti-racist civil society gone?'
President of the Union of Jewish Students, Louis Danker, talks to @WilfredFrost and warns of the 'stunning silence' on antisemitism. ⬇️

Today @UJS_PRES Louis joined the Prime Minister and other cabinet ministers in 10 Downing St following the antisemitic arson attack in Golders Green.
UJS and our partners will continue to work at the highest level to defend Jewish life.

Really welcome intervention from @bphillipsonMP following UJS’s Time for Change report.
Yes, freedom of speech is fundamental to our university system - but “there can be no ambiguity when it comes to glorifying terrorism or harassment of Jewish students”.
@UJS_PRES Louis on @BBCr4today this morning with @bbcnickrobinson.
💬“Of course there is a right to protest […] but there is no freedom to harass and to intimidate”

The Government have listened to UJS and Jewish students’ calls, and produced a comprehensive counter-extremism strategy with a dedicated focus on campus. [1/4] ⬇️

An NUS candidate has reposted virulent antisemitic conspiracy theories - Israel did 9/11, America is controlled by “Zionist PDFs”, war in Iran is all about the Rothschilds.
Jewish students expect the other NUS candidates to condemn this - publicly.

“For months we have seen the shameful glorification of the terrorist activities of Hamas and Hezbollah.
It is therefore unsurprising to see the same student groups eulogise and praise Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has brought such devastation to the people of Iran … ⬇️
A massive mazel tov to Raphi Leon, elected UJS President 2026/27. Raphi is Warwick JSoc President and ran a brilliant campaign empowering Jewish students to take ownership of their Jewish student experience.
He will take up the role in Summer 2026.
Yesterday, UJS hosted a series of meetings with MPs to discuss rising antisemitism on campus.
We were joined by Jewish student leaders who shared their local experiences, and outlined the urgent steps needed on a national level, in line with our Stand Against Terror campaign.
Yesterday, Lord Leigh raised the rise in campus antisemitism in the House of Lords, referencing UJS’s Stand Against Terror campaign.
We won’t rest in our mission to advocate for Jewish students and enable proud Jewish life on campus.
Professor Ben-Gad has worked at City University for 18 years. Why have “City Action for Palestine” chosen now to dox, intimidate, and allegedly threaten to behead him?
Because a culture of impunity has festered for two years, and extremist groups have never been so emboldened ⬇️
Following unacceptable glorification of Hamas atrocities on campus this week, UJS is today launching our “Stand Against Terror” campaign.

“Tommy Robinson is a thug who represents the very worst of Britain. His presence undermines those genuinely working to tackle Islamist extremism and foster community cohesion. Minister Chikli has proven himself to be a Diaspora Minister in name only. In our darkest hour, he has ignored the views of the vast majority of British Jews, who utterly and consistently reject Robinson and everything he stands for.”

Update from the UJS team following yesterday’s attacks. We are working around the clock to support our students, and inspired by the Heaton Park community, Jewish student life will persist.
