One of the biggest challenges facing Palestinians in #Gaza is returning to their places of origin after prolonged displacement. Through its neighbourhood approach, @UNDP continues to help make this possible by providing dignified temporary housing, restoring basic infrastructure and services, and creating the conditions for safe and dignified return while supporting early recovery. 470 final-year health students in Palestine are now on track to graduate and join the workforce. In partnership with @pamapalestinian , we are removing financial barriers to accelerate certification and strengthen the national health system.

In #Hebron, we are working alongside local communities through our "Area-Based Development" approach to improve access to essential services and create new economic opportunities. This Eid Al-Adha, women in #Gaza are leading the way, baking traditional sweets and sustaining livelihoods despite difficult conditions. Through @UNDP, 60 women-led production units have received manufacturing tools, equipment, and employment opportunities to strengthen community recovery. Listen to Fidaa Zayed’s story. With 🇩🇪🇸🇪🇰🇷support & the MoPWH, UNDP built a new 11-dunum neighbourhood in Beit Lahiya. Moving families to dignified shelter, the site also delivers vital sanitation units, water tanks & community service tents.

In coordination with UN sister agencies, WASH Cluster partners & local organizations, @UNDP is tackling pest infestations across 1,700 locations in #Gaza, with spraying, rodent control & awareness campaigns, supported by @EU_ECHO & Belgium.

As part of the relief interventions under the TARABOT Palestine Programme, funded by @AROinRamallah 🇦🇹 and @FinPalestine 🇫🇮 and implemented by @UNDP in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, an emergency response package was provided to support the resilience of 500 farmers affected by repeated attacks that have disrupted their business continuity and access to land across the West Bank.

Thanks to the support of our partners in the German Government, through its Development Bank KfW, and in partnership with RIWAQ and Al Jib Municipality, we today celebrated the inauguration of the Al Jib Community Centre “Housh Assaf” and the Al Jib Football Field, following the completion of rehabilitation works under the Investment Programme for Resilience (IPR III). The project will improve access to safe and inclusive sports and recreational spaces for more than 19,000 people from the surrounding communities, while providing inclusive community spaces serving over 2,600 women, youth, and community members.

Despite the immense destruction in #Gaza, UNDP remains committed to supporting recovery efforts. As rubble continues to accumulate, new environmental risks are emerging — including pests and solid waste — further threatening the health of displaced families. Hear from UNDP/PAPP Special Representative Jaco Cilliers on ongoing efforts to remove rubble, address environmental hazards, and the provision of dignified shelter for affected families.

With 22,500 people in #Gaza facing life-altering injuries, restoring health services is a priority. Alongside @pamapalestinian, we’ve rehabilitated the Physical Therapy Dept at Ahli Arab Hospital, equipping it with specialized devices and supporting medical staff capacity to help ensure continuity of care.

Thank you, Sweden, for partnering with us to scale the delivery of Relief Housing Units (RHUs). These aren’t just structures; they are clinics, classrooms, and homes where recovery begins. Together, we are making the shift from emergency to resilience a reality.

Together with @EAA_Foundation & @qatar_fund, we have completed 100 learning spaces across 10 school sites to help 90k students in #Gaza return to class. In partnership with the Ministry of Education & GCDG, we are restoring functional school systems and national education.

Today, we launched the "SHAMSI #Palestine" programme with Norway, Austria, and Finland to support #solar_energy for local government units. In partnership with the Palestinian Government, PMA, and PENRA, we are accelerating the #renewable_energy transition.

The Youth Lab for Environmental Change is one of nine projects supported by @UNDP through the @GEF Small Grant agreements, aiming to empower Palestinian communities to drive local solutions that protect #ecosystems, promote #renewable_energy, improve #food_security, #reduce_pollution, and build #climate_resilience. Recently, the project, implemented by INJAZ Palestine, kick-started one of its initiatives: “The Green Innovation Camp” workshop at the Palestine Red Crescent School for the #Deaf. The initiative targeted school graduates and university students with hearing impairments, as well as others who have pursued vocational pathways. Around 14 youth participated in the workshop, where they were led by experts and supported by sign language interpreters. They were trained to become #environmental_leaders and to lead the design and implementation of innovative, community-based environmental initiatives that advance sustainability, social inclusion, and local resilience.
