Today, 5 professionals from Uganda’s petroleum, water & waste sectors come together for an honest & thoughtful conversation about their careers, their industries & the communities they serve. Representing UNOC was Commercial Manager, Edith Tushabe Atuhurira, who shared insights from her experience in Uganda’s growing oil and gas sector.

Today @MEMD_Uganda in partnership with UNOC held a press conference to provide updates on the status of petroleum products supply, retail fuel prices, and key developments in Uganda’s oil and gas sector. We reassure the public that Uganda continues to maintain stable fuel supplies despite ongoing global market disruptions affecting international petroleum supply chains. @MEMD_Uganda further urged the public to avoid panic buying and disregard misleading information regarding fuel shortages.

As we commemorate the International Day for Biological Diversity, let us continue taking local actions such as tree planting, proper waste management, protecting wetlands and forests, and conserving natural habitats. These efforts create lasting global impact and give nature the protection and respect it deserves.

UNOC’s EXCO participated in a high-level meeting where H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met with renowned industrialist Aliko Dangote to discuss the proposed East African regional refinery initiative. During the meeting, President Museveni emphasized that exporting crude oil without refining it would not make economic or strategic sense, as it would deny the country and the region the full benefits of the petroleum value chain. Uganda expressed readiness to support the regional refinery initiative while continuing the development of the country’s own refinery project in Hoima.

UNOC joined hundreds of Ugandans at the 2026 Absa 7 Hills Run as a proud sponsor. The annual run is in support of girls’ education across Uganda. This year’s edition saw hundreds of runners take on Kampala’s iconic seven hills under the theme “Run So She Can,” As a national oil company, UNOC remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote health & community impact.

Team UNOC joined hundreds of supporters at the Childhood Cancer Colour Run 2026, organised by the Uganda Child Cancer Foundation. The run brought together individuals and organisations in support of children bravely battling cancer and the families walking the journey with them. We appreciate all colleagues who represented UNOC and took part in this meaningful cause.

Day 2 of the Oil and Gas Skills Expo brought together stakeholders from government, industry, academia, and the private sector to advance discussions on skilling, innovation, research, and career opportunities in Uganda’s oil and gas sector. UNOC moderated a key session on Innovation and Research in Energy, exploring how research and development can support growth and transformation across sectors. The Head of National Content, Mr. Peter Bintu highlighted UNOC’s role in advancing national content, capacity building, and opportunities for Ugandans across the oil and gas value chain.
