Most children in #Gaza are displaced, many living in tents or overcrowded shelters. The noticeable rise in cases of diseases is especially painful for children. While UNRWA continues delivering essential services including shelter and sanitation, rodents, overcrowding and poor hygiene conditions are direct causes for the spread of disease. People in Gaza need proper homes. Supplies need to be allowed in at scale.

Human development in the #Gaza Strip has been set back 77 years as a result of the war, according to report by @WorldBankGroup @‌EUpalestinians @‌UN. The past two years has brought a severe decline in living conditions, livelihoods, food security, gender equality, and social inclusion. Today, the entire population of Gaza is experiencing significant, direct, and long-term negative effects to health, psychosocial well-being and livelihoods. UNRWA’s lifesaving assistance, including healthcare, helps negate some of these negative effects. UNRWA has the infrastructure, staff, knowledge, experience, skills that would allow it to scale up its services and support to the community if only more supplies are allowed into the Gaza Strip.
