June is Men’s Health Month, a reminder that men’s health matters both inside and outside the workplace.
For many men, it can be easy to put responsibilities, work, and the needs of others first. In healthcare especially, we are committed to delivering safe, patient centered care every day. But in order to continue caring for patients, it is equally important for men to prioritize their own physical and mental well being.
More than half of men delay or avoid routine health screenings, and conversations around mental health are still too often pushed aside. Yet a significant number of men experience ongoing stress, anxiety, or depression without seeking support or discussing what they are facing. Preventive care, routine checkups, rest, and taking time for a mental reset are all important parts of maintaining overall wellness.
Taking care of yourself is not stepping away from your responsibilities. It helps ensure you can continue showing up for your patients, your families, your colleagues, and yourself.
At USAP, we encourage men everywhere to make their health a priority this month and throughout the year.
