As part of the federal spending package, @USFCMS will receive $1.5M to enhance the forecasting of hurricanes, storm surge, harmful algal blooms and other natural hazards through new state-of-the art oceanographic instrumentation and existing sensor package upgrades.

#USF will receive more than $14M in new resources as part of a federal spending package secured by members of Congress who represent the Tampa Bay Area.
The funds will support seven different projects across the university, including initiatives that benefit student success, military veterans, and critical research in AI, cybersecurity, brain health, and environmental sciences.
