Elon Musk is about to become a trillionaire If he agreed to pay just 80% of that as a wealth tax to the EU, the EU government could use its efficient operating experience to fund bicycles with solar panels attached to them for over 40 residents of the Netherlands Elon is being selfish by not paying the wealth tax

Biggest issue I have with @CommunityNotes is a people issue - everyone seems to be convinced that a snopes report that references a news report that references another news report is somehow a source. Reports on sources are not sources because they are not “the source”.

Will GOP end up with a super majority given the redistricting?

What happened to GPU pricing when crypto farming became mainstream is exactly what is about to happen to Mac minis for local AI agents.

Want to spot AI posts, look for simple patterns. For instance: “This isn’t [blah blah], it’s [bladebeblah].”

Is anyone else realizing how many videos are AI? Not just the obvious ones. I mean the large, large, large majority of them.

Every quippy AI bot post ever: “[some statement of fact] This isn't just [some generic take], it's a [some pseudo-edgy take]. This is how [ultra-mild fear-mongering message]“ How many can you spot on your feed?

How much of the internet is AI generated content? I would go as far as to say 80% of social media content (incl. here on X) is fake. The more you are exposed to it, the more familiar it becomes, the more normal it looks, the more accepting you are of it, and the less you notice it; just like the millennial whoop.

Actually, obligatory: Two economists are walking in a forest when they come across a pile of shit. The first economist says to the other “I’ll pay you $100 to eat that pile of shit.” The second economist takes the $100 and eats the pile of shit. They continue walking until they come across a second pile of shit. The second economist turns to the first and says “I’ll pay you $100 to eat that pile of shit.” The first economist takes the $100 and eats a pile of shit. Walking a little more, the first economist looks at the second and says, "You know, I gave you $100 to eat shit, then you gave me back the same $100 to eat shit. I can't help but feel like we both just ate shit for nothing." "That's not true", responded the second economist. "We increased the GDP by $200!"

Every dollar spent on food stamps creates $1.50 in economic activity. Only the economically illiterate want to cut food stamps.

“Essential services” is a way of relabeling “government responsibilities”. Everything else is entirely unnecessary for the federal government to conduct, and should have never tasked themselves with.

At some point in the extremely near future, knowledge is going to be lost rapidly as everyone has AI write their website/blog/social content, which in turn is ingested by AI. What happens when you photo-copy a photo-copy?

The past 7 presidents include 10 presidential terms. 1 assassination attempt that wounded Trump. 🤔 “It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.” - Revelations 13:1 Not alluding to anything. Just found it interesting.

You do not hear about freedoms available in other countries that are not available in the US. This is not because they don’t exist. It’s because if everyone only hears about freedoms lost in other countries, you won’t frog-leap out of your own pot when your freedoms are taken away.
