Comrades is more than a race, it is a test of endurance, discipline and heart, qualities we value and develop in university sport every day. When you pull on your university and club colours on race day, you carry the pride of your institution, club and the spirit of university sport with you every kilometre from Pietermaritzburg to Durban. Run with courage, run with respect for one another, and run safely. Remember that you are representing not only yourselves, but the future of university and club athletics in South Africa. Whether you are chasing a personal best, a Bill Rowan medal, running for charity, or simply running to the finish line, your participation inspires the next generation of student-athletes and staff members at universities.
