Hristo Kojouharov, who has been a respected researcher, educator, and mentor at UTA since 2000, took over as chair of the Department of Mathematics on January 1. He replaces Jianzhong Su, who had served as chair since 2012.

UTA's Amphibian and Reptile Diversity Research Center recently added Denton County’s first documented Western Diamondback rattlesnake to its extensive herpetology research collection. The discovery received extensive media coverage in DFW and beyond.
