We will be open from 8:30am – 10am for Year 13 students to collect their technical and A Level results tomorrow (Thursday 17th August). Staff will be available to support with clearing and any queries. Good luck to all our students!

Year 9s have been busy making models of animal and plant cells! As part of their #Biology lessons and working scientifically our students have been using plasticine to model animal and plant cells with Mr Jarvis.

It was a pleasure to welcome in nursing students from @DerbyUni earlier this week to work with our #health students, as well as students from @UTCSheffOLP & @LeesBrookSchool! Thank you for coming in! Our students had a fantastic day!

This morning a Year 13 has been dissecting a sheep’s heart! Although it may appear to be a relatively small organ it’s definitely a very important one and interesting for our students to explore in more detail. #Science #Biology #Dissection

As part of #BritishScienceWeek our students have been looking at kidney donation! Students visited @sheffhallamuni Biochemistry Labs last Tuesday, they were tasked with deciding who would make a compatible kidney donor for a fictitious patient. #Science

We had a great day last week for #ComicRelief! Our student council put on a bake sale and Mr Watkins and Mr Schofield bravely volunteering to go in the stocks, where they had cold sponges thrown at them for a fee. In total we raised over £290, thank you to everyone who donated!

Today Y9s have been at @MuseumofMaking, with @RollsRoyce They've been taking a closer look into the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 aero & engaging in a series of real-life experiments based on techniques used in NDT, Maintenance, the Materials Labs, Machining, & Submarines.

Our Applied #Science students have been learning about testing soil samples! Students welcomed in @sheffhallamuni Biochemistry department who came & collected soil samples from around the UTC to test. The samples were taken back to SHU to carry out various tests.
