Dual accreditation means our accredited best practices in law enforcement are fully integrated with the best practices in campus policing and security operations as part of our effort to provide excellent service to the UTMB community.

It is #nationalpoliceweek and we honor our law enforcement professionals who protect and serve the UTMB campus community every day. Since 1923, 53 campus law enforcement officers have been killed in the line of duty, a stark reminder that dangers do not stop at campus borders.

Advisory, do not approach wildlife! Last night, an employee was injured while trying to photograph some wildlife, specifically racoons, while the raccoons were foraging through trash near the Medical Library. Medical treatment was necessary. Be advised that these animals and others, such as coyotes are found on the island and may be hazardous, especially at night. Avoid them and report their location to UTMB Police or UTMB Facilities to avoid injury.
