An acclaimed artist and musician, Parker transforms public spaces through immersive, collaborative sound sculptures. His work has been showcased around the world from the Lincoln Center Festival to the American Academy in Rome.
We are thrilled to share that Steve Parker, Associate Professor of Instruction with the School of Music, has been named the 2025 Texas State Visual Artist in 3D by the Texas Legislature!
UTSA Arts, the Interdisciplinary School for Engagement, and the UTSA School of Art are thrilled to welcome Mark Menjívar to the faculty this summer! Mark has been appointed as Associate Professor of Public Practice in the Arts and Associate Director of UTSA Arts.
He is passionate about working with the community and has worked locally and nationally with dozens of organizations to co-create immersive, participatory projects.
Mark attended McLennan Community College, holds a BA in Social Work from Baylor University and an MFA in Art & Social Practice from Portland State University.
