A better ramp is on its way!
Starting May 1, the La Cantera exit ramp will close to allow crews to begin construction on a brand-new ramp! The new ramp is anticipated to open in the fall.

UTSA PD responded to a medical incident at Laurel Village student housing in the early evening hours of Wed., April 29. SAPD also responded. The situation did not present a safety concern to the campus community, and there is no ongoing safety concern.
On Thur., April 30, UTSA PD and SAPD continued their investigation. SAPD now serves as the lead investigative agency.
Due to applicable privacy laws and the active investigation, no additional information is available at this time.

As part of the Texas Department of Transportation's Loop 1604 expansion project, the exit to La Cantera Parkway, which provides quick access to the UT San Antonio Main Campus and surrounding shopping centers, will permanently close. Your usual route may no longer be available.
This change will likely add additional time to your commute, so please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and stay alert for new traffic patterns. According to TxDOT, the closure is scheduled to begin May 1, weather permitting.

You may notice some ongoing activity at Laurel Village today as a follow-up to the medical situation last night. There is no safety concern for the campus community.
This evening, April 29, first responders were called to Laurel Village in response to a medical situation. There is no safety concern for the campus community. UTSAPD and SAPD remain on site as the situation is being addressed.
