I think it's deeper than this. Libs are beginning to grasp that bipartisanship happens when Rs and Ds agree to service the donors who have bought off politicians in both parties (Wall St, pharma, crypto, AI, AIPAC). "I'm bipartisan" usually means "I'm corrupt."

"Hi I'm a friendly moderate Democrat who loves bipartisanship" is an incredibly tone deaf message at the moment and it offers nothing of substance to voters. People are frustrated. They don't want someone who was made in a laboratory.
