Everyone knows @AxieInfinity had a huge role in bringing attention to web3 and NFT gaming but few know how instrumental and under the radar @GodsUnchained has been as well. Both started building around the same time, early 2018. Axie Infinity was able to blow up with the play to earn model that attracted millions of new players. Gods Unchained hasn't had that happen yet but without the need for scaling it required on Eth L1, @Immutable might have never been born. Now Immutable is building a strong foundation with IMX passport for easy social login integration that works in every game build on IMX, getting 100s of well-funded games to build on a scalable L2 built on top of Ethereum, and soon having an L2 ZKEvm powered by @0xPolygon. Maybe none of the current crypto gaming excitement would be happening without Gods Unchained. They just released a new set expansion, and a mobile version of the game is on the horizon.
