Congress sweeps Punjab urban body elections, wins 2 out of 4 Municipal Councils.
Congress has secured victory in Gurdaspur and Dinanagar, while Shiromani Akali Dal has won Qadian and Aam Aadmi Party has won Sham Churasi.
The standout result comes from Gurdaspur, where Congress has won all 22 declared seats, with counting still pending on 7 more seats. Notably, the Aam Aadmi Party has failed to win even a single seat in the Gurdaspur Municipal Council election so far.
A resounding mandate for Congress and a complete sweep in Gurdaspur.

If Mamata joins Congress and state leaders like Akhilesh, Tejashwi, and Uddhav continue to remain with the INDIA Bloc, then DMK should seriously consider building an independent presence across India—especially in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, MP, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and all the southern states.
Dalits, OBCs, and minorities are always looking for an alternative beyond Congress and BJP.
Many of them like DMK.
Many of them admire Dravidian politics.
Even if DMK manages to win just a few seats in every state, it could become a game-changer for Indian politics forever.
If you laugh at this idea, I would just like to remind you that a few months ago, Tamil Nadu was laughing at TVK in the very same way.
