"Our son is absolutely thriving & has all the love in the world. We [myself & the adoptive parents] do everything we can to make sure he knows how loved he is…he knows that he's adopted & that my decision to give him up was made out of love," –Birth Mom

In that situation, we would encourage the woman that she can complete the pregnancy, and select parents for her baby prior to the birth. The child would be loved and cared for by the adoptive parents, who would be ready for that responsibility.

This would allow the birth mother to finish high school, go to college, etc. And, if she decided prior to placement that she wanted an open adoption, she would still have contact with her child to some degree.

When we reference a woman's options we typically only discuss adoption. However, we truly believe that if a woman desires to parent, there are pregnancy care centers and other organizations who can assist her with the daily tasks & demands of parenthood.

"[I] always knew I was adopted. I never saw it as I was 'given up'. The way I see it is that I was chosen. Also - I found my birth family a few years ago and we are all really close now including my adoptive parents" –Adoptee ❤️

"I placed my birth son into an open adoption 17 years ago. We worked hard at our relationship. We treated each other as people and always put the child’s needs before our own. The day I placed I united two families into one." –Roanne, Birth Mom

We’re thrilled to share that the Supreme Court’s decision yesterday was in favor of the pregnancy care center, & the vote was unanimous! We filed an Amicus brief in support of the center last year, & we’re grateful that donors’ private information will remain confidential.
