it feels like a dick move to say anything negative about fic writing but i also want to humbly add my two cents: can we normalize putting translations right next to the foreign language dialogue instead of putting them in the end notes

Can only be done well in certain cases when you insist on the word or explain it right after. But if it’s simply an insertion, the translation right next to it will look tacky. Like putting non CC subtitles when you watch a show
