As part of the Energy/Health Nexus project, VCOSS worked with @latrobe to explore how the health system can play a part in recognising Energy Hardship as a social determinant of health.
It's vital that people with disabilities can get the help and information they need in ways that work for them.
The development of General Foundational Supports is an important opportunity for this to happen.
We know that complicated systems don't work for real people - we're optimistic about the purpose but we urge decision makers to make the most of this opportunity.
Today, however, is International Day of People with Disability so please join us in raising awareness for those that we love in our families, in our workplaces and in our communities.
One in ten people with disability in Australia have experienced discrimination. This isn't good enough. We strive with our members to be part of creating and inclusive and diverse community that celebrates everyone.
