Ventura's Trevor McCarthy and Brianna Torres each earned All-American honors at San Mateo Friday at the 3C2A State Track & Field Championships. McCarthy earned his award in the javelin while Torres in the 10,000m run on the first day of the championships.

The VC men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Mt. SAC Relays Saturday. Brianna Torres led the women with a silver medal in the 5000m with a lifetime best while Cole Everett produced a personal record in the high jump, placing fourth.

The Pirates' men's track and field team placed third and the VC women were sixth in the WSC Finals. Trevor McCarthy finished first in the javelin and the women's 4x100 quartet of Leshelle Lee, Ashley Crist, Kelsey Crist, Chloe Williams brought home gold.
