This week's #TransitionTip is to practice cooking skills this summer using this step-by-step guide:
🔘 Start with Simple Recipes: Choose easy-to-follow recipes that require minimal ingredients & steps, such as sandwiches, salads, or pasta dishes. Tip: Use Pinterest for recipes!
🔘 Follow Step-by-Step Instructions: Guide the student through each recipe step, using clear and simple language. Visual aids or picture-based recipes can be helpful.
🔘 Practice Measuring and Mixing: Teach basic cooking skills like measuring ingredients and mixing. Practice using measuring cups and spoons.
🔘 Encourage Clean-Up: Emphasize the importance of cleaning up after cooking. Show how to wash dishes, wipe counters, & store leftovers.
