🚨🚨Leader Takeover 🚨🚨
For those of you who don’t know me — my name is Electa Bey and I have been organizing with Communities United for nearly 9 years.
Throughout the years, my organizing efforts have been informed by my own experience with housing insecurity.
For over 3 years, as a member of the Whole School Safety Steering Committee, we have worked with students, community members, and CPS, to advocate for and develop trauma-informed holistic school safety approaches.

Throughout the expansion of the Whole School Safety program, the steering committee is committed to hosting public comment sessions and supporting schools to develop transitional school safety plans in partnership with students, parents, and the broader community.
Our actions are indebted to student and community concerns, the continuation of community engagement, and the implementation of trauma-informed school safety approaches within the Chicago Public School District.
