30 more seconds of airtime and Kuip would’ve started cursing. Didn’t even try to pass it to Krukow for his final thoughts, lol. #SFGiants

In 1982, this 63-year-old San Francisco native described a version of North Beach he grew up in that doesn’t exist anymore. His name was Dante Benedetti, and he was born and raised in North Beach. He owned a restaurant there called New Pisa, which existed from 1927 to 2003.

When we turn the clocks ahead on March 8, it will be the last time change ever for BC. We're changing to a permanent daylight saving time, simply called Pacific Time (PT). Learn more: News.gov.bc.ca/33415

$110B is kind of a big round. That's at least 50% of all US VC-backed company fundraising in 8 out the last 11 years. (not sure we should count this as VC, is what I'm saying)

The pandemic fundamentally broke a multi-decade alliance and relationship of trust between teachers’ unions and parent voters. With declining enrollment, it won’t be reparable for more than 1-2 decades and I’m not sure anyone has fully processed what this means politically.
SFUSD teachers are still on strike. They’re asking families not to do the independent study worksheets. They’re also asking families to donate cash to them because they’re not getting paid while on strike. But please keep telling me this is all for the kids.

It’s not as if Trump’s first defense secretary specifically warned about this in 2022 though:
If someone had predicted before the last election that if Trump won, federal officers would be shooting Americans in the streets, he'd have been dismissed as an alarmist.

We learned this week that Aumni (@getaumni) by J.P. Morgan is being discontinued. Aumni was an early pioneer in the VC software space, and we have deep respect for what their team built. We’re wishing everyone there the best as they navigate this transition. We understand that this change may create stress for portfolio operations and finance teams who rely on Aumni for consistent access to portfolio data, especially with Q4 close and audits approaching. Per Aumni’s customer communication, portfolio data processing will end in mid-January, and the platform will shut down at the end of March. We've been in touch with many Aumni customers and team members over the past couple of days, and it's been wonderful to see the community come together and support each other. If you’ve been affected in any way and are evaluating continuity options, whether with Standard Metrics (@metrics_co) or elsewhere, our team is here to help however we can. Please feel free to reach out to me or anyone at Standard Metrics.

Welcome to Attention Grabbing circa 2025. This isn't it. Management fees are an interest free loan extended by LPs to GPs to pay for the business. The best GPs not only repay these fees through recycling, but get to 110-120% of committed capital invested. /1
A dirty secret about venture capital most people don't understand: The actual management fees charged by VC funds is 20%, not 2% You have to pay the fee for all 10 years, even if the fund only invests for 1-2 years On a $1B fund, the fund manager makes $200M no matter what
