The ACT Party held an event in Lower Hutt this evening though the meeting was disrupted by about a dozen or so protesters who set off alarms and shouted during the gathering.

With the defeat of Massie, the success of Graham, and the continued unchecked authoritarianism of Trump, everyone should realize that the Republican Party is a cult of personalty. Stop spreading the delusion that the GOP supports liberty, limited government, and the Constitution.

If you buy one ply toilet paper you are in indicating that you hate yourself and humanity. Better paper may cost a little more, but it is most certainly worth the price.

"A family from Mexico arrives this morning legally has as much right to the American Dream as the direct descents of the Founding Fathers." Bob Dole, Republican nominee for President August 15, 1996. The GOP has strayed far from this vision, now replaced with Trump's xenophobia.

The good news is that the House of Representatives has voted to end Trump's unconstitutional war in Iran. The bad news is that my awful Congressman, Ben Cline (VA-6), has once again voted with Trump and against the Constitution. clerk.house.gov/Votes/202619…

Today, I walked through Lower Hutt. One great thing about living in an area with many cultures is you can find a lot of stuff from around the world nearby. I bought tea cakes from Britain, stroopwaffles and Gouda from the Netherlands, and mochi from Taiwan.

This year, I had to pay taxes in both the U.S. and N.Z. In the U.S. you have to fill out complicated forms or pay someone to do it for you. In N.Z. I didn’t fill out anything and just received a notice that they would be issuing me a small refund.

There’s nothing more blue-pilled than thinking Donald Trump was going to be good in his second term after witnessing his first term.

Today’s defeat of Thomas Massie is tragic but not unexpected. The truth is that Republican Party is a cult of personality based on the whims of Donald Trump. People who advocate for liberty, limited government, and the Constitution have no place in today’s GOP.

In my opinion, the only decent Republicans in Congress are ones who have held Donald Trump accountable through impeachment or some other means. Sadly, Donald Trump has forced most of these people out of office as he continues to mold the GOP into a cult of personality.
Here's the full list what happened to the 18 congressional Republicans who voted to impeach/convict Trump. Only three remain (David Valadao in the House, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins in the Senate), and two of them are very vulnerable this November.

Although Thomas Massie may be the best Republican member of Congress, he certainly isn't perfect. To the best of my knowledge, he has never retracted his endorsement of Trump or has called for Trump's removal from office despite Trump's repeated violations of the Constitution.

Universities across the world, including in the U.S. and New Zealand, are experiencing significant problems due to the cyberattack on Canvas platform. Until this problem is resolved, I cannot access the grades and previous assignments of my students. :-( nzherald.co.nz/nz/wellington…

According to a YouGov poll released today, a majority of Australians now believe that Donald Trump is the greatest threat to world peace. Last year, only 31% of Australians thought Trump was the greatest threat.

After class today, one of my students and I spoke about American politics. I was surprised that the student knew the quote in the picture below. It seems to me that anyone who studies American politics should realize it is inherently rotten.
