A sharp observation comparing them to Russians. Iran is an ancient civilization — a land of discovery, with entirely different mechanisms. Russia? An empire built on conquest and seizing what isn’t theirs.
I have immense admiration for the Iranian people who are demonstrating for freedom, rights, and dignity and against a totalitarian regime. Their courage is all the more remarkable given what we know this criminal regime is capable of. What a difference compared to the russians!

⚡️ 1/ Why Ukraine is striking Russian oil refineries: the logic of asymmetric warfare Today’s Ukrainian drone attack on the Kapotnia refinery in Moscow isn’t mere retaliation. It’s part of a deliberate, long-term strategy to offset Russia’s massive material advantages.

5/ This is classic asymmetric warfare: the weaker side refuses to fight on the enemy’s terms. Instead, Ukraine is making Russia pay an ever-higher price for its aggression — bringing the real cost of the war deep inside Russian territory.

6/ The fire visible today at one of Moscow region’s key refineries is more than a tactical success. It’s a strategic message: The battlefield is no longer limited to the front lines. The economic foundations of Russia’s war machine are now in play. The war has come home.

❗️1/9 A Hybrid Confrontation Through 2030: What Risks for NATO’s Eastern Flank? Despite diplomatic efforts to end the Russo-Ukrainian war, Russia is preparing for a long-term standoff with the West. The most likely scenario until 2030 is not direct NATO-Russia war, but a prolonged hybrid confrontation with recurring tensions on the Alliance’s eastern flank.

The next decade is more likely to bring a new architecture of confrontation — hybrid, technological, economic, and informational — rather than real peace. Ukraine will remain central to deterring Russia, while Europe buys time to strengthen itself.

The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is not merely a historic monument. It stands as one of the strongest symbols of Ukrainian historical continuity. Damage to such sites affects collective memory and challenges the existence of an independent Ukrainian identity distinct from narratives of the “Russian World.”
I took these photos of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on June 2, 2024. The russian bastards destroyed it like thousands of other Ukrainian cultural & religious sites. It’s part of their genocidal plan: to wipe out the Ukrainian nation, its people and its heritage. They will be defeated.

❗️ Russia’s war against Ukraine extends beyond the battlefield into a systematic effort to undermine Ukrainian cultural identity and historical continuity. On June 15, 2026, during a large-scale missile and drone attack on Kyiv, a strike hit the grounds of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, causing a fire on the roof of the Dormition Cathedral. 🧵

As Edward Said argued in his work on cultural imperialism, dominant powers seek not only political control but also influence over how other societies are represented and understood. In this framework, repeated damage to Ukrainian cultural heritage forms part of a broader struggle over history, memory, and the right of a nation to exist as a distinct political and cultural community.
