“One mistake I made when I first joined the company,” Dan Lin told the Times, “was that filmmakers always said to me, ‘Please tell me the truth.’ And when I told them the truth, they might not have wanted to hear it. So now I’m learning how to better read people. And if someone tells me they want to hear the truth, I tell it in a way that can be as productive as possible.”

I was looking forward to seeing this film but it exceeded my expectations by a considerable margin. Somehow it manages to be both like unalike and like Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s best previous work and how he pulled that mix off I haven’t a clue.

ONE SPOON OF CHOCOLATE from @RZA & Co. is the 21st century DEATH WISH, and it just blew the fucking roof off the @vistahollywood. I can’t remember the last time I saw such a satisfying and emotionally moving revenge thriller. This movie is something special. @shameikmoore 4EVR.
