The 1986 Topps Football set wasn't just another release. It featured rookie cards of Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Reggie White, Bruce Smith, Andre Reed, and Bernie Kosar, gave the hobby one of its most iconic cards in Jerry Rice's rookie, and became infamous for being incredibly tough to grade.
Nearly 40 years later, it's still considered one of the greatest football sets ever made.
That's why 2026 Topps Chrome VeeFriends is paying tribute to it with the new 1986 Football insert.

Now that we are fully into Topps Chrome season...here's my VeeFriends Topps Chrome sketch.
I was given the honor of sketching Driven Dragon. VeeFriends allowed me to collaborate with Aria, my granddaughter, who did the background art.
She's 10, and now she's a named sketch artist in a Topps Chrome set. More importantly, she has a core memory of a unique, shared experience with me. It's incredibly special and I'm humbled and grateful.
Thanks, @garyvee and VeeFriends. This is way more than just cards.
