💫 The time with @Vengeance_VAL: One month ago, @notaNNja started to talk to me about a new project she was building with @doomuhnutz. While I was maybe a little skeptical at first to play contenders and try to qualify to VCT, after these talks I could see the passion and drive to succeed. I was given the trust of being IGL and also being allowed to play my best agents, so we went out to find players to work around us. I brought in my ex-teammate @LateuVL, and then we finalised the roster around 1 week later with @cqkieee and @tpquokka after some tryouts. We played our first day of practice on the 16th of July. When the tournament starts on the 29th, it's not exactly a situation where you can expect much from something so new, but either way, we came with the goal of trying to qualify. Sure, in the end we didn't make it but to me it doesn't mean that we had any kind of failure. It is not easy to consistently win bo3s over many teams with long standing cores and strong staff behind them, but even still we managed to show a great level and finish top 4. For me, I owe all the wins to the trust my teammates gave me and my system. From the first day of practice until the final match, my teammates gave me the trust of fully running the team in game, creating every comp, strat, etc. Their belief in my vision is what allowed us to be on the same page and go as far as we did, and for that I cannot have more respect for any of them. I really mean it when I say that all of them displayed qualities of selflessness, passion and commitment to the team that you do not normally find, combined with incredible individual talent. They were some of the best players and teammates I have ever had as an IGL - I have never shown up to prac everyday and been so impressed by my players, especially when some have such little experience. Additionally I have gained so much respect for anyone trying to come up through this system to the VCT. Having to play 3 maps of officials a day for a week straight is so hard to deal with, especially when you are playing without an org, or bootcamp, etc. For me personally, I felt I kept a good control of both my individual game and my calling for most of the tournament, but after the Mad Lions match, something was simply missing after that. Maybe if I could have gotten a better read or been more in touch with my aim we could still be fighting for our spot, but with the tiredness clearly affecting us to some extent, I hold no regrets as I know both me and my team tried their hardest in each moment and that's all that anyone can ask for.
