Maternal #HeartFailure, lessons from Sweden🫀:
A nationwide, population-based study (2000–2019) involving >2 million deliveries found:
📍66% ⬆️ in maternal HF incidence
📍0.34 cases per 1,000 deliveries
📍~50% with associated cardiac disease
📍some risk factors: 🤰maternal age > 35, #hypertension, multiple gestation, & hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
👉While rising comorbidities explain part of this trend, the growing burden of maternal #HF remains a clinical concern.
👉Early recognition, prevention, & coordinated care are essential

Where do steroidal and nonsteroidal MR antagonism overlap—and diverge—in HF?
sMRAs = Class I in HFrEF but limited by hyperK/endocrine AEs;
nsMRA shows CV/renal benefit in CKD T2D and reduces HF events in HFmrEF/HFpEF (FINEARTS-HF).
What’s next? Role for HFrEF, implementation/uptake, cost-effectiveness; plus MR modulators & aldosterone synthase inhibitors on the horizon.
