Since I was asked, here's what we know so far.
The two fires that are most concerning are the HWY 82 fire in Atkinson GA which is a small town about 20mi west of Brunswick and the Pineland Rd fire which is west of the Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge.
There are an estimated 30,478 acres involved in the Pineland Rd fire with 12 homes or structures lost. It is 10% contained with 99 firefighters and 4 engines assigned to the fire.
The HWY 82 fire has more resources assigned because there are more homes and businesses at risk (1508 estimated at risk). It involves approximately 4,450 acres, is 15% contained and 71 homes or structures have been lost. There are 230 crew, 58 engines and 1 fixed wing air asset currently assigned.
At this time the following roads are closed:
Waynesville Road to Hwy 110
Waynesville Road to Hwy 259
110 W. to Happy Hollow
Hwy 82 from the intersection of 301 in Nahunta to Browntown Road
There are shelters open at:

Hortense Church of God of Prophecy — (6756 Highway 32 E, Hortense)
Evacuation Relief Station — Nahunta First Baptist (112 Florida St, Nahunta, GA 31553)
The local emergency management agency and sheriff's department are stating that no donations for responders are currently being accepted. They have had an outpouring of support and aren't able to inventory and store additional donations.
Those wishing to to support the families affected are being asked to donate via organizations listed with Georgia VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster).
Physical donations of non-perishable food, toiletries, clothing, baby supplies, bedding (only in clean good condition) are being accepted by the nearby city of Hoboken. Those with questions or wishing to arrange a donation can contact the city of Hoboken at 912-458-2171
To clarify: Veterans Disaster Corps does not have sufficient volunteers in FEMA Region 4 to offer assistance at this time and as such will not be accepting donations for the wildfire relief effort. People should give to those who are responding and assisting with this fire.
If this changes and there is anything we can do to offer assistance, we will post an update. If there are any questions that we can answer, we will gladly do so.
If there are specific requests made of VDC we will do everything we can to fulfill them.
Any in Georgia? Sending vibes and love to yall.
