Steve couldn’t help the way the corner of his lips quirked up at her reaction to it all. He could hear her moving through the receiver, honestly a little shocked at how fast she was moving. He let a little breath out through his nose, amused at it all. “I’m fine, I just. . .” he inhaled deeply, voice lowering again as he felt the officer behind move about, “got into some trouble. I deserve it, but they deserved it more.” He glanced to his knuckles. Yeah, still worth it. “I have bail set, but I don’t want you doin’ something you don’t need to. If you can get into my apartment I’ve got a safe in the closet. The key is in my ceiling above the shower… should be enough in there. You think you could get it and come get me out…?”
