🌡️ HEATWAVE WARNING: Stay Safe in the Heat! 🌡️
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Heatwave Warning for Victoria. Extreme heat can affect everyone, but older people, those with pre-existing conditions, pregnant women, young children, and pets are particularly at risk.
With climate change making heatwaves more frequent and intense, let’s stay prepared and protect our community.
How to Stay Safe in the Heat:
✅ Drink plenty of water. Always carry a bottle with you.
✅ NEVER leave kids, adults, or pets in cars. Temperatures inside can double in minutes.
✅ Keep cool – find air-conditioned spaces, close blinds, use fans, take cool showers, and wear loose, natural fabrics.
✅ Plan ahead – schedule activities for the coolest parts of the day and avoid exercising in the heat.
✅ Look out for others – check on elderly relatives, neighbors, and vulnerable people, and ensure your pets are safe too.
✅ If you feel unwell, call NURSE-ON-CALL at 1300 606 024 or see a doctor. In an emergency, dial 000.
