Tbf, the story telling itself didn't help much at dismissing the theory. It was always an all encompassing Remake, meaning it takes everything from post '97 FFVII and recontextualize and repackages it into this remake series. That was and is how Nomura sees it.

Gonna address an elephant in the room here. I am GLAD that P5 goes back to its SMT roots to fight demons instead of the shadows in P3 and P4. Better designs and the demons have character. The shadows are sauceless slop. I hope P6 continue with using the demons as mobs.
