I'm not sure what would be more remarkable: Sussex winning Division One with their points deduction and players out of contract or Kent winning Division Two after being so bad they had to turn off comments on social media Both great stories so far

Haseeb Hameed may be lucky to still be at the crease after what appeared a very good LBW shout against him was turned down It's a rare piece of good news for Notts in a match where almost everything else has gone wrong viewfromthebridgepod.substac…

Incredibly, if Yorkshire can beat Warwickshire then we're looking at 8 teams with a realistic chance of winning the County Championship with half the season gone If Notts draw I think they're likely to be hovering near the top. If they lose they'll drop down a lot of places

I think we will be seeing many more Thomas Rew hundreds with those crunching square drives, lofted sixes and reverse sweeps

His only flaw has been trying to hit it too hard through the off side at times and either edging or playing and missing The way he played spin has been brilliant

If you're Somerset, whack a quick 30 then declare? Can't see Notts scoring above 400 at more than 3.5 runs an over Crucial for the openers to dig in against the new ball when the bounce is at its most variable. Batting 115 or so overs on here is more than doable

Another painful session as dropped catches continue to cost Notts a chance of winning Little has gone right in this game: selection errors, missed run out, drops, slips too deep and poor batting But we can still salvage a draw and go again next week. Feels like a huge 26 hours

Stuff like this makes @TrentBridge so special. Notts ground-staff play cricket in the outfield with supporters during today’s lunch interval.

Notts’ bowling has been good this morning even if the catching hasn’t! Intriguing to see how this plays out

Still can’t understand why Notts slips are so deep Cost them first innings and costing them again here So frustrating

Do we want to bowl Somerset out and chase 350 to pretty much guarantee a result? Or would we prefer Somerset to bat on making it easier for us to secure a draw? I’m a bit conflicted
It's never wise to over-react to a bad day, but there has been a trend all season of Notts struggling against their title rivals It feels like even if they draw here, something needs to change for them to retain their title viewfromthebridgepod.substac…

Today continues a trend of Notts being dominated by their title rivals this season They’ve been far below their standards of last season. This is not a pitch to lose on, especially after winning the toss They’ve shown great resilience but they don’t look like champions

But things can change fast: they could still draw or win here, their bowlers could find their mojo, Hameed could find form and their all-rounders could get to 50 The talent is there but they need to be a lot better soon or they will start to fall away

Now just sign for Notts, please
Congrats, Henry! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Henry Crocombe has been called into the England Men's Test squad as cover for Ollie Robinson, who experienced knee soreness after a training session yesterday. Crocombe has been taken out of our XI with immediate effect against Glamorgan and is replaced by Dom Goodman, who makes his Sussex debut. 👏

ANDY FLOWER (RCB HEAD COACH) ON THE BIGGEST REGRET & BAD DECISION OF HIS LIFE 🥺🗣️: "When I was the head coach of England team across formats and we were having quite a success. We were winning alot, three Ashes in a row, T20 WC, number 1 Test team etc I was traveling 250 nights away from my family, my wife and my three kids. One day my wife sat me down and said that it can't go like this and I need to make some sort of adjustments or things could take a turn for the worst. I think it was good of her of making me realise about my responsibilities. I talked it with ECB director and we appointed a white ball head coach Ashley Giles under my supervision and I continued with the Test team. And it never worked. Me and Ashley never gelled well. In the temptation of holding onto the both things, the fame & success of being at the head of England cricket and being a family man a committed father, I ENDED UP LOSING BOTH. We lost the ashes 5-0, I resigned. I ended up leaving the home , there was a break up in the family and that was quite traumatic for my wife, my kids and myself. We still have to bear the scars of it. One of Buddha's principles of living says it about being afraid of losing one thing and then ending up losing both. I regret that I wasn't wise enough" (Ridhima Pathak Podcast)

Good to hear heritage manager Steve LeMottee on the live stream despite it coinciding with a flurry of wickets A lovely man and the heritage team do incredible work The library is an absolute treat and well worth visiting

I fear for Yorkshire I hope members stay strong and repel this
Yorks setting up "Demutualisation Consultation Group" Let's hope it actually is consultative First of many such moves I fear yorkshireccc.com/wp-content/…

Feels like a decent session for Notts: Quick Somerset wickets, 2 down against the new ball not terrible, sun out and batting slowly getting easier McCann and Clarke both enjoyed some luck and hopefully they can make it count
