Yet the movie flopped, you twat! Rant as much as you want. The Disney Star Wars failure is now complete.
THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU star Brendan Wayne with the perfect take about toxic Star Wars fans: "It's interesting to see people who are pulling against the franchise they love, just because of their ownershipโ€ฆ That can be 100% toxic in the Star Wars worldโ€ฆ.It's to be present and to watch it, and if you don't connect, cool, but we don't need to hear how bad you are, that they ruined your Star Wars. They didn't ruin your Star Wars. It's our Star Wars." (Source: movieweb.com/mandalorian-braโ€ฆ)

Because it is shite.
WHY IS THIS MOVIE FLOPPING?????

Okay, itโ€™s time to address the elephant in the room. The MOTU film is shite, and here is why. Back when Barbie earned a shit ton of money, I said that would be the template for future toy line movie adaptations. Lo and behold! I was fucking right.

It needs to mean it respects the mythology and is not apologetic for it. It means it recognises its values beyond the camp. It acknowledges that the names may be ridiculous, but the message in every one of these characters is worth the effort: a hero tries.

Thatโ€™s why the MOTU film failed. It didnโ€™t even try to paint the mythology in that aura of heroism and made apologies for everything. It demasculated the male characters, and made fun of them. It was consciously ignorant of the great values it had.

Retards gonna retard. The show was a toy commercial, yes, but so was pretty much any other IP that came after it: Revamped GI Joe, Transformers, My Little Ponyโ€ฆ and those are treated with more respect than MOTU. Shut the fuck up, cunt! You have no power here.
No, because the '80s He-Man cartoon was a dumbass show for babies. You're not getting John Boorman's EXCALIBUR from a cartoon based on selling toys to dumbass babies.

The fact so many people like it is because they have all opted to shut their brains down.
The #MastersOfTheUniverse movie might not be for "everyone" but it is for anyone instead of a select few and that's why so many people like it.

No, the movie is also shite. Itโ€™s just a different sort of shite, but Smith deserves all the destruction he can get for creating such a stupid show.
Man, he is getting wrecked in the QRTโ€™s. And as much of an improvement as Revolution was, Revelationโ€ฆstunk. And the movie was very good since it lacked Smithโ€™s tryhard writing.

It is divisive, sure, but it also is a slap in the face for the fans who have waited for a serious take for a long time. It also is the continuation of the same, tired formula of going for Pathos and avoiding raising the stakes, just in the way Marvel does. Itโ€™s a dismal film.
There's something going on with this movie that I haven't put my finger on quite yet. It's not just that it's somewhat divisive....movies have divided fans before. There's something else. Another layer or two involved. Something is just off about the way people are responding to this. I'm going to keep trying to figure out what it is, but even as I type this, I'm starting to get an idea.๐Ÿ’ก

Not always. Many MOTU fans didnโ€™t show up simply because of the Earth bit, the race-swapping, and because the trailers told a campy story in some cases and in others a story that wasnโ€™t appealing. Movie sucks anyway.
Yeah. They both were good. Audiences didn't show up because both films were niche (if we are being honest) Plus, the people behind the films (and media) made comments about demasculinizing or toxic masculinity that turned off the core audience. In both cases, it wasn't true.
