BREAKING: Scott Pelley Just Made A Pretty Stunning Allegation. According to Pelley, CBS leadership wanted a story about the killing of ICE protester Renée Good changed to better match Trump's version of events. Pelley says he was told management wanted protesters portrayed as more violent and wanted Good described as driving toward the officer who shot her. He says the video evidence showed otherwise. Then came the admission. "There was a thumb on the scale for the president's version of events." A veteran journalist with 37 years at CBS is alleging political pressure was applied to change the facts of a story. That's a remarkable accusation.

Yet another complete failure of Texas leadership to let this happen. While Ken Paxton is suing toothpaste companies, he SHOULD be suing the federal government to immediately stop this destruction of Big Bend. Today, I’m mourning the loss of Sylvia Collins, a longtime Precinct Chair, community advocate, and dedicated Democrat who spent decades serving Dallas and the broader DFW community. Sylvia believed deeply in public service and in showing up for people. She brought compassion, energy, and commitment to the work, and she helped strengthen our party and our communities through years of steady leadership and advocacy. Her impact will be felt for years to come by the many people she mentored, organized alongside, and inspired. My heart is with Sylvia’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working with her. She will be deeply missed.

Even Greg Abbott admits it, Bo French doesn’t know the first thing about oil and gas. The runoff is over, and November is locked in, an experienced mechanical engineer vs. a candidate whose own party warns would wreck Texas energy. We need competence, not chaos.

I filed a bill to create a fund for mental health services. My hope was to increase the number of school counselors. Revenue would come from a slight increase in the sales tax on the sale of ammunition. Mass shooters don’t spring up overnight. They often have a history of bullying or being bullied.
