rocket arriving in the UK? first time?
Jun 11
Astra’s next-generation rocket just crossed the Atlantic. Rocket 4.0 arrived in the UK the same way it’s designed to launch: in standard shipping containers. Mobile. Containerized. Orbital. The future of launch is everywhere.

Cost/flight, sure. But we're proud to take the cake for total cost/kg to orbit at approx. $5.4 million/kg.
I'm pretty sure that would give us the highest rocket cost/flight ratio ever. Ignoring all the ones where it's infinite...

There are other ways, you say?
To be clear we are *far* from anything being settled, but based on what I'm hearing it seems at least 50-50 that NASA's Space Launch System rocket will be canceled. Not Block 1B. Not Block 2. All of it. There are other ways to get Orion to the Moon.

Second stage failures suck shit, huh? How's it feel?
29 Sep 2024
After today’s successful launch of Crew-9, Falcon 9’s second stage was disposed in the ocean as planned, but experienced an off-nominal deorbit burn. As a result, the second stage safely landed in the ocean, but outside of the targeted area. We will resume launching after we better understand root cause

Fun Fact of the day! A lot of people don’t know this because of the spray on insulation we used but LauncherOne was the worlds second orbital rocket to use fully composite tanks
