Yesterday I took a trip to Rudyard Lake in Staffordshire, with my sister. It's really only a few minute's drive from home but it's been awhile since I was last there, and yes, that' me. I used to have a lot more hair but that was before I had my cancer treatment.

Today we explored the abandoned Rudyard Cadtle in Staffordshire.
Built in 1811 by John Haworth.
George Orwell hosteled here in 1936 as he researched for his book 'The road to wigan pier'.
It has been abandoned since 2014 when robbers tied up and tortured the owner, before killing his dog, and making off with any contents of financial value.
The owner, Brian Dalley, didn't have insurance, or a pension, and died penniless just a year after the attack.
