Voice for All is the Brothers of Charity Services in Lancashire and Merseyside user led Advocacy Group run by and for people with a learning disability.
Great afternoon yesterday with @HFTLSCft who came in to hear VFA thoughts on the new champion badge and poster soon to displayed in a GP Practice soon.
Everyone agreed it was a great scheme and we look forward to seeing it in our GPs soon.
Our @VoiceForAll3 group recently attended a breast cancer awareness workshop to encourage our service users to attend any screenings they are called for and what to expect during their appointments. This is one of the first of many of these workshops that we plan on running ๐
In celebration of Easter, Elizabeth, one of our service users, created this beautiful Easter bonnet with the help of her support team. Using chicks, bunnies and sequins to decorate, Elizabeth managed to make the bonnet even more fabulous! ๐
One of self-advocates attended the @NWAMB_Inclusion community event and listened to their plans for the next year, she also had the opportunity to provide feedback on what she thought they could improve on ๐ค
Our self-advocacy Menโs Group met up for their monthly catch-up session in a local pub. The group enjoyed playing pool, cards and discussed any news that they wanted to share ๐
Becky and Andrew, two of our Lancashire-based service users, were shortlisted for an award organised by @DIsabilityNW for their hard work and commitment to the community. Although they didn't win, they both received a certificate and were highly commended by the Mayor of Preston.

Our Voice For All group had the pleasure of the NHS facilitation team coming in to talk about the importance of annual health checks - the team are hoping to deliver these talks across all of our services in the near future.
Tomorrow we'll be in Leyland speading awareness about Hate Crime.

For #NationalReadingWeek, our community reading group started a new book, โThe Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horseโ โ the group is enjoying reading it and canโt wait to see how it ends!

Our volunteer-led reading group attended the Soup Dragons Den fundraising event, hosted and organised by @ProgressHG - the group came runners up and were awarded ยฃ200 a free DVD player โ well done!
