One of my long-standing ideas for a novel concerns the aftermath of a horror film, with the defense attorney trying to prove that, your honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my clientโ€™s friends WERE indeed killed by a vengeful ghost
they should make a sequel and it's just 12 angry men but one of them is trying to prove one wish willows work

I imagine him doing funny faces and the "L" for "loser" thing at the guards
Huh, turns out there was a Kiwi spying for Japan in Malaya, WW2. He was held in Singapore but when the Japanese got closer, this stupid loser starts to taunt his guards that soon he'd be free and they prisoners So they just took him to the harbour and shot him in the head lmao

I remember in college when I tried to bullshit a poetry assignment by just reformatting an old prose piece I had into verses without any meter and when I turned it the professor was like โ€œokay you just took a story and broke it up into arbitrary stanzasโ€

Itโ€™s sort of crazy how quickly elite opinion embraced Darwinism in the mid-late 19th century.

SPR is interesting because it almost has the reverse of an anti-war arc. Rather than being disabused of the notion that war is glorious, we OPEN with the infamous, visceral Normandy scene. In contrast, the final battle in Ramelle is much less visceral, much more Hollywood.
Itโ€™s been over 25 years and Iโ€™m still not over Pvt. Jackson not making it out of the bell tower. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

this film only worked because of the two leads the entire narrative revolved around
Backrooms only worked because of these two. They carried the whole film

One thing I always appreciated about Kim Possible was it didn't do too much of the "oh boo hoo I don't want all this responsibility why can't I just be a Normal Teenager" stuff, the show mostly just acknowledged that being a superhero would actually be awesome

Napoleon I: pure hype moments and aura chud who kills everyone in his way and whose political project breaks into a trillion pieces as soon as he eats shit Napoleon III: Chud who everyone hates because he actually built a functional state apparatus that outlived him
Trotsky would have been a Napoleon I, which is much better than Stalin, who was a Napoleon III.

In the 80s, my dad was hanging with some guys heโ€™d just met at a rural Mexican hotel. The hostess came over and whispered โ€œdonโ€™t leave with those men.โ€ He says โ€œto this day I wonder if she saved me from something terrible, or if she just wanted me to spend $5 on a room.โ€
