Bruce Blakeman is welcoming racism and Islamophobia into his campaign for governor. The hateful rhetoric we saw is dangerous, divisive, and has no place in New York. Our Muslim communities deserve dignity, safety, and leaders who bring people together, not tear them apart.
Thousands showed up outside Gracie Mansion not just to reject Mamdani, but to reject Kathy Hochul, who made New York less safe, less affordable, and less free. Kathy Hochul had her chance. New Yorkers are done waiting. They said it themselves: the only way to save New York City is to vote this November. I will fight for you every single day.

Black voters built this democracy through generations of struggle, sacrifice, and courage. We will not allow extremists to dilute Black political power or rig our democracy because they fear our voices. We’re fighting back in the courts, in Congress, and in our communities.

This is repulsive. Antisemitism and hateful rhetoric have no place in our politics or government. And the Republican super PAC spending money to prop up and amplify this candidacy should be ashamed. Texans should reject this kind of hate outright.
TX-35 Democratic candidate Maureen Galindo says she will convert ICE detention center in Karnes County into an internment camp for "American Zionists." "It will also be a castration processing center for pedophiles, which will probably be most of the Zionists," she added.

Donald Trump has unleashed terror in communities across this country. From gutting healthcare to targeting communities of color and escalating ICE raids, this administration has made clear it does not care about working people. We must always stand with everyday people.

The Supreme Court’s devastating decision in Louisiana v. Callais pulls America backward. Not since Jim Crow have Black voters faced this level of disenfranchisement. We must take every step necessary to protect voters and push back against this extremist decision.

On this Earth Day, I’m proud to have earned the support of the New York League of Conservation Voters. It’s a reminder that protecting our planet isn’t optional, it’s urgent. We have to recommit, not just today, but every day, to fighting for our environment.

Today, I launched my reelection campaign for Congress. These are trying times. Prices are up, our democracy is under attack, and we have a President dragging us into a reckless war of choice. But I’m ready to fight back and serve the people of Brooklyn. When we fight, we win!

I want to congratulate Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton on becoming the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Illinois.  This is a significant moment that calls for unity, and I look forward to her victory in November and welcoming her to the Congressional Black Caucus.

I’m also proud of Rep. Robin Kelly and the campaign she ran. Sometimes you lose races, but her leadership continues to shape our party’s future.  We stand ready to help Lt. Governor Stratton succeed and deliver for our communities.

Congratulations to @AdrienneEAdams on becoming @KathyHochul’s running mate for Lieutenant Governor. A mom, a grandmother, and a battle-tested leader as former NYC Council Speaker, she’s ready to deliver for New York families. This is the leadership we need in Albany!

For the record. This was not unanimous. I was muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition to this  move. Also for the record, this was not on the agenda. This was not consensus. This is censorship.
I have just been informed that the highly respected Board of the Kennedy Center, some of the most successful people from all parts of the world, have just voted unanimously to rename the Kennedy Center to the Trump-Kennedy Center, because of the unbelievable work President Trump has done over the last year in saving the building. Not only from the standpoint of its reconstruction, but also financially, and its reputation. Congratulations to President Donald J. Trump, and likewise, congratulations to President Kennedy, because this will be a truly great team long into the future! The building will no doubt attain new levels of success and grandeur.
Community note
The building is statutorily named the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Congress did not give the board the authority to change the name. law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/20…

On December 31, ACA tax credits will expire.
That means parents will be forced to choose between prescriptions and rent. Seniors will be forced to choose between a doctor’s visit and groceries.
Letting these credits expire is a choice—and it’s the wrong one.

New York’s history was shaped by trans leaders like Marsha P. Johnson and many others who fought for freedom long before it was safe. On Transgender Day of Remembrance, we honor the lives stolen by hate and stand firm in protecting the rights and safety of every trans person.

The administration wants applause for ending a shutdown they manufactured. Please. They showed us exactly what happens when people who resent government try to run it. The CBC will continue to fight for stability, dignity, and the communities they neglect. #CBC
