most coding platforms test algorithms. recticode tests whether you can debug real systems. we just launched challenge sprint (may 4–31). submit real-world bugs → build a public engineering track record. then we run a global debugging competition in june. recticode[dot]com

just realised i can't take part in most of the hackathons on @devpost (because of age restrictions) kinda sad because i was looking forward to taking part in the v0 aws hackathon

i've decided that this summer is less about building startups and more about shipping small profitable side projects. still working on recticode, plus a few other things that can actually make money when they’re done, but with a focus on learning and finishing instead of scaling

recticode is open source. we’re building a public library of real-world debugging challenges. if you: • enjoy crafting subtle bugs • want your work used in competitions come contribute. this isn’t another todo app. it’s infrastructure for better engineers.

every project i’ve built didn’t die because the product was bad. they died because no one saw them. i used to think "if it’s good, people will come." they don’t. distribution killed my previous projects. not letting it kill recticode.

we’re running a global debugging hackathon on recticode. real multi-file bugs. public leaderboard. june championship. opening sponsor spots starting at just £10. if you want your brand in front of serious builders without spending thousands, dm or comment.

recticode is live. a new way to practise coding: you don’t solve clean problems. you fix broken systems. race conditions queue bugs real-world style code issues each challenge is short, focused, and designed to feel like debugging real production code. link in bio

i built a coding challenge platform where you fix bugs in real codebases instead of solving leetcode-style problems you get a small project, find the issue, then fix it feels way closer to actual dev work fully open source try it: pip install recticode would you use this?

i tried running a normal treasure hunt once. clues went missing. teams skipped steps. so I built Qreasure. it lets you run real-world treasure hunts using QR codes. no app installs, works on any phone, and you can see progress live. qreasure.com

We celebrate unicorns, but we learn from graveyards. This developer built an open-source archive of failed SaaS projects to preserve the lessons learned from startups that didn't make it. { author: @VulcanWM } dev.to/vulcanwm/learning-fro…
