Snow or sun, our Science on Wheels Team is ready to roll 🥶 They’re in Payson, AZ today braving the snow, but that just guarantees the science is even cooler 😉❄️
An X-flare Goodbye: Region 3234 fires an X2-flare on as it rotates out of view. An R3 #RadioBlackout is in progress. Amateur radio operators on Earth's dayside, expect issues over the next hour (colored regions in map). A #solarstorm has launched but it is not Earth-directed.
SPITTING FIRE: The new region on the northeast limb (now numbered AR3186) is extremely active, shooting out jets almost continuously and there is a filament eruption in the background too! Note how small out Earth is in comparison.
I had a great trip to Arizona where I operated as KE8RJU/7 DM43. I also visited the @W7ASC_ARC during the trip. On December 29 I will be operating as K8Y for December YOTA Month from EN62. I will be on the Satellites and HF throughout the UTC day. I hope to contact you!
@wa8zid with our brand new GeoChron Atlas 4k with 64” BRAVIA monitor. This is the first installment of our new radio equipment, thanks to a grant from @ARDC_73!
We can’t wait to continue to inspire, educate and engage curious minds through radio science
Thank you to @ARDC_73 for giving us a grant to update our radio equipment at the Harkins HAM Shack at @azsciencecenter With this grant, we’ll be able to inspire more amateur radio enthusiasts for years to come! Stay tuned for updates
#ProTip: Arizona Science Center is a #BlueStarMuseum 💙 Through Labor Day, all active-duty military personnel and five family members receive FREE general admission!

Class dismissed! Ten future #amateurradio operators from one family just left. Three generations. Ten HTs programmed and tested (Under control of Steve WB4ZSC) Next step - licensure before they take the air themselves.
Look out #satellites! W7ASC @azsciencecenter is returning to the air with refurbished satellite antenna and graciously donated equipment from Amateur Radio Council of Arizona and CSN Technologies. Thanks, guys! No more Keystone Cops antics to chase the birds.
