Stop comparing transplants to immigrants. Immigrants don’t forgo their whole identity just to be New Yorkers we’re proud to be both. they learn to be American & assimilate in NY which is different than an immigrant in Miami or Houston. That’s what makes them New Yorkers
Dumb take. Because many who were not born here are New Yorkers. For example, the folk who work the Halal Carts. Most of them are immigrants. They are essential to our metropolis for the food but also the culture. Some of them arrived here in their 30s. By your standards 🧐
