He probably had him, but that was a super quick stoppage for O'Malley.

They've gotta stop giving Derrick Lewis fights. That fight was a Jokit.

So they're letting small retail investors in and locking them down for two weeks so the big guys can dump it all and get out?
NEW: Fidelity lowers the minimum account requirement for the SpaceX IPO from as high as $500,000 to just $2,000.

So Sex Pistols and Public Image LTD playing the same festival? I'm sure Johnny Rotten won't make a scene.

I can afford to eat out every single day, but I don't. Because it's fucking stupid.

I don't think boomers have considered the impact to their investments if everyone just stopped eating out and spending money on new phones.

Multiple things can be true. Groceries are far too expensive in America. You don't need to spend a lot of money on food to make good food. I'm making ham and potato soup tonight. It will be amazing. Its like 15 servings for 12 bucks. Cheap ≠ poverty food

No one wants to talk about the fact that there was a big four in fast food roast beef in the 90s. We really had it all.

Part of the problem with the cost of eating out is that everyone wants to go to "Corporate Slop" and they pushed small restaurants out. Any place I go to that has a mom and pop analogue is more expensive than the small restaurant.

It's laughable that people act like no one ate out more than occasionally in the 80s and 90s. I grew up in a family restaurant. Grandfather was the owner, my mom worked there full time. This was in a town in Pennsylvania of less than 10,000 people. Not a wealthy place either. Majority of the residents solidly below the poverty line. We had multiple customers that ate there five times a week. We had even more customers that ordered takeout 2 or more times a week. People with families. In the 80s and 90s you could legitimately get a pizza from a mom and pop place that was comparable in cost to cooking at home. A 16 inch pizza was under 7 bucks with a topping. A 14 inch was under 5. Our regulars kept us in business from 1978 until we closed after my grandfather's death in 2001.

The pack a lunch vs. buy a lunch debate is getting wild now because the alpha health weirdos have entered to let you know you can never have a sandwich.

Psychotic take. Everyone drank soda constantly in the 80s and 90s Soda was actually pretty freaking cheap.
Yes. Soda was a luxury until the mid-2000s. It was something you'd have for family movie night on Fridays and birthdays. Prior to the ~90s, it was even more rare. Drinking soda with every meal wasn't normal until fairly recently. It is a small luxury but a luxury.
Community note
US per capita carbonated soft drink consumption rose from 10.8 gallons in 1947 to a peak of 53 gallons in 1998, contradicting claims it was a luxury reserved for special occasions until the mid-2000s. ers.usda.gov/amber-waves/20… businessinsider.com/americans-are-…

Oh man the eating out is why you're poor debate is back on my timeline. It's either a $2 dollar ham sandwich or a $30 Chipotle order. If you meal prep though you can eat pretty good lunches, especially if you're not afraid to eat the same thing for lunch a bunch of days in a row. I had chicken shawarma with Greek salad last week for like $3 a meal.

You don't have to eat struggle meals to pack a lunch if you meal prep. Not only that, they can be fairly healthy. I'm having jalapeño popper chicken wraps this week. They're like $2.50 a piece because I made everything. Very few processed ingredients outside of the tortillas.

It's wild how many people think Rousey vs. Carano was fixed. If it went three rounds and Rousey spent them striking, yes, it was fixed. A complete annihilation in 15 seconds is not the outcome you want as a promoter with such a hyped up fight. Carano was never that good, she was just in on the ground floor, and super marketable. Rhonda Rousey now would beat Gina Carano at her absolute peak. The only reason you thought this was fixed is because you bought the promotion. You had no clue about the skill level of the fighters

People acting like Rousey vs. Carano was fixed. Carano was never ever beating Rousey. Not even back in the day. They didn't need to fix it for this outcome.
